My Amsterdam guide

Between all the preparation for my exams, I’m dreaming back to Amsterdam. Amsterdam really made a great impression on me, and I really hope that I soon will return to the city.

What I really love about the city is the small channels, with is houseboats and small bridges. Beside that I like the medieval look of the houses and that the houses is really narrow. The history behind it is; the more money they had, the more wider house they build.

When I was in Amsterdam I visited Museum Van Loon. The museum tells the story of the Van Loon family, which have been closely connected to the city of Amsterdam. The museum show how a prosperous family earlier have been living, and how the fashion was at that time. I must say the fashion at that time was lovely, just take a look on the pattern suit.

I also went to Eye, where you can see and try the technological developments film has undergone. 😀DSC_2166DSC_2148

Amsterdam has also great shopping opportunities. You can visit the nine streets or some more local markets, where you can find vintage items or crafts; like these handmade wood figures for painting.

I promise that I in my next post will show you, what’s in the shopping bag.

Now the most important part of the trip; the food. Amsterdam offers you all; from India, Chinese, to Italy, French. You can have dinner at a Michelin star restaurant, where I had a food-journey at Lastage, or small cafes.  It is a good idea to check up on the eating places in Amsterdam. Do yourself the service and see what other people recommend on sites like TripAdvisor, because some of the places are great others just tourist traps.

Some of the places I really can recommend”Ijssalon Tofanni” they have an amazing ice cream and sorbet. They even has a soy ice cream if you are lactose intolerance.

If you like Chinese/Asian food then visit  “New King”. The food is great and really reminds me of my summer vacation in Hong Kong. The only thing that I don’t think they do in China is; in Amsterdam you eat roasted onion with the rice? 😀

On my trip in Amsterdam I also visit the small place “Omelegg“. The place has the most delicious omelet, served with salad and bread. You really get a tasty meal for a fair price. I couldn’t eat mine up. I was so full that I skipped dinner and took a midnight snack when traveling home.

The only thing I missed in Amsterdam was my WiFi. Sometimes you could find places/spots with free WiFi, but then the WiFi wasn’t good.

I Love Demin

DSC_1373DSC_1377Hi, how is your week so far? I’m sorry for the silence on the blog this week, but I have in this week end of term examinations, so I’m focusing on that.
Luckily is tomorrow the last day with examinations, but the last two days have just been exhausting after five hours with test.

Denim on Denim in the same tone was yesterday’s outfit outfit. A super simple, casual, but super stylish street style outfit – I Like It ! :3
There is so many opportunity in the denim trend to make an amazing outfit; dress, shirt, skirt, jeans, jacket etc. and so many different tones you can combine. I Love Denim ❤


Hej, hvordan er din uge indtil videre? Jeg beklager virkelig for stilheden på bloggen i denne uge, men skolemæssig står ugen på terminsprøver. Heldigvis er der kun imorgen tilbage, men de sidste to dage, der har jeg været helt færdig efter 5 timers terminsprøverne.

Chinese Mid autumn festival – Månefestival

Okay, jeg er sent på den, i forhold til dette indlæg.

Den. 27 september var det månefestival, så jeg er 13 dage forsent på den. Månefestivalen er en kinesisk tradition, hvor man fejrer 3 ting. Man fejrer forsamling (Gathering) af venner og familie, taksigelse (thanksgiving) for høsten og gode bekendte og beder (Praying) for en god fremtid, børn osv.

Det der kendetegner månefestivalen er selvfølgelig månekagen, som er en meget speciel kage (taler af erfaring.), som kun spises under månefestivalen.
Månekagen består af en tynd dej ala. butterdej, inden i kagen er der lotus frø pure, og en æggeblomme.
Månekagen er en lidt tung kage, men sød og interessant. Jeg kan dog godt undvære æggeblommen. Der findes mange forskellige variationer af månekagen, nogle er med ‘red bean’ fyld som er en speciel bønnefyld.


27th September was Mid autumn festival, so I’m like 13 days late out. Mid autumn festival or moonfestival is a Chinese tradition where you celebrate three concepts;
1. Gathering, such as family and friends.
2 .Thanksgiving, for the harvest or for harmonious unions.
3. Praying, such as for babies, longevity, or for a good future

The special thing about Mid autumn festival is that you eat mooncakes, which is a great but really special cake.
The mooncake is made of a thin pastry like puff pastry, inside the mooncake is there lotus seed paste and in the middle an egg yolk. A mooncake is a bit heavy, but nice and delicious cake. I find the mooncake really interesting, but I didn’t mind if there wasn’t an egg yolk. The mooncake exist in a lot of different variation, some with red bean paste, which is a paste made of some special beans.
It is possible to make the mooncake and I think that I want to try some time. If you didn’t notice, you will now. I’m obsessed with food and love If I can make it by myself and healthy.

The Ducklings Socks

For some while ago I posted about HAPPY FEET, i don’t know if you remember. Anyways I was yesterday wearing my beloved Blue Ducklings Socks and here is a snapshot of them in action. I didn’t know you could be so happy of a pair of sock, but I really love them. They are so soft and comfortable. Now I will leave the duck pond, because this little blue ducklings is going out to party tonight.


For lidt tid siden skrev jeg et indlæg HAPPY FEET, jeg ved ikke om du huske det indlæg. Anyways forleden dag var jeg iført min elskede blue Ducklings sokker og her er et lille billede af dem i aktion. Jeg vidste ikke at man kunne blive så glad, for et par sokker, men jeg elsker dem virkelig. De er så bløde og behagelige at have på. Nu vil denne lille ælling forlade andedammen, fordi denne ælling skal ud i aften og feste !!!

Chinese Steamed Egg Custard

It is already two week since I left Hong Kong. Where is the time gone ? Now it is back to school but I will first keep my memories from Hong Kong alive a bit longer. When I was in Hong Kong, I tried “Steamed Egg Custard”. I have afterwards found a recipe for the dish. The orginale egg custard I triede in Hong Kong contained chinese mushrooms, but this is without because I don’t know where to find them.


Der er allerede gået to uge, siden jeg kom hjem fra Hong Kong. Hvor bliver tiden dog af ? Det er nu tilbage til skolen, men inden da vil jeg lige holde liv i mine ferieminder fra Hong Kong. Da jeg var i Hong Kong smagte jeg “Steamed Egg Custard”, jeg har efterfølgende fundet en opskrift. Den egg custard jeg prøvede i Hong Kong indeholdte svampe, men denne er uden, da jeg ikke ved hvor jeg kan skaffe dem.

For two persons:

  • 2 eggs 
  • 6 oz water 
  • ½ teaspoon salt 
  • Chives (Optional)
  1. In a small mixing bowl. Whisk the egg untill the egg white and yolk are totally combined with chopsticks in circling motions.
  2. Add the water and the salt and stir again in one direction.
  3. pour the egg mixture through a sieve into two small containers and cover the containers with alumium foil.
  4. Fill the steamer with water and place the containers down in the steamer. If you don’t have a steamer, you can make one right here. 
  5.  Bring the water to boil. Steam the egg curstard for 7-10 minuts. You can test by inserting a toothpick. 
  6. Add the chives. Bon Appetit 😛 

For to personer:

  • 2 æg
  • 180 ml vand
  • 1/2 tsk salt
  • Purløg (Kan undlades)
  1. Slå ægget ud i en skål og rør det sammen med spisepinde i cirkelbevægelser indtil æggehvide og blomme er blandet sammen.
  2. Tilsæt vand og salt og rør igen sammen i cirkelbevægelser.
  3. Si æggemassen ned i små portions skåle og til dæk skålene med stanniol .
  4. Hæld vand i en gryde og placere skålene i gryden på en dampeindsats og bring vandet i kog. Har du ikke en dampeindsats, kan du stadig godt lave dem Se her 
  5. Når vandet koger, skal de damp i ca. 7-10 min. Du kan evt tjekke efter med en tandstik.
  6. Drys med purløg. Bon Appetit 😛
