My Amsterdam guide

Between all the preparation for my exams, I’m dreaming back to Amsterdam. Amsterdam really made a great impression on me, and I really hope that I soon will return to the city.

What I really love about the city is the small channels, with is houseboats and small bridges. Beside that I like the medieval look of the houses and that the houses is really narrow. The history behind it is; the more money they had, the more wider house they build.

When I was in Amsterdam I visited Museum Van Loon. The museum tells the story of the Van Loon family, which have been closely connected to the city of Amsterdam. The museum show how a prosperous family earlier have been living, and how the fashion was at that time. I must say the fashion at that time was lovely, just take a look on the pattern suit.

I also went to Eye, where you can see and try the technological developments film has undergone. 😀

Amsterdam has also great shopping opportunities. You can visit the nine streets or some more local markets, where you can find vintage items or crafts; like these handmade wood figures for painting.

I promise that I in my next post will show you, what’s in the shopping bag.
Maybe you can guess what it is? 

Now the most important part of the trip; the food. Amsterdam offers you all; from India, Chinese, to Italy, French. You can have dinner at a Michelin star restaurant, where I had a food-journey at Lastage, or small cafes.  It is a good idea to check up on the eating places in Amsterdam. Do yourself the service and see what other people recommend on sites like TripAdvisor, because some of the places are great others just tourist traps.

Some of the places I really can recommend”Ijssalon Tofanni” they have an amazing ice cream and sorbet. They even has a soy ice cream if you are lactose intolerance.

If you like Chinese/Asian food then visit  “New King”. The food is great and really reminds me of my summer vacation in Hong Kong. The only thing that I don’t think they do in China is; in Amsterdam you eat roasted onion with the rice? 😀

On my trip in Amsterdam I also visit the small place “Omelegg“. The place has the most delicious omelet, served with salad and bread. You really get a tasty meal for a fair price. I couldn’t eat mine up. I was so full that I skipped dinner and took a midnight snack when traveling home.

The only thing I missed in Amsterdam was my WiFi. Sometimes you could find places/spots with free WiFi, but then the WiFi wasn’t good.

I wouldn’t mind wearing this casual boho inspired look. For me this look is just calling on summer, festival and beach trips.

The top and the striped bikini are my favorites, so lovely pattern. Ecspecily the top is wonderful. I can just imagine how the top will be perfect with a pair of black jeans or a mini skirt for a formel night look.

Clinique Moisture Surge

Two weeks ago I ran out of Lancôme Hydra Zen face crème, but because the last two week had been a bit busy, I thought I could wait a bit, until I had  some more time. I had also considering trying another face crème. Not that I don’t like Lancôme’s Hydra Zen, I actually really like the crème, but it is a bit expensive for a student.

But not buying a new face crème immediately was a big mistake. Instead of buying a new one immediately, I used one a creme my mother gave me, but the creme wasn’t good for my skin. I had to use bio-oil to save my skin from drying totally out and being itching.

Because of this episode I went to a local make-up store some days ago, where I got home with Clinique Moisture surge.
What I liked about Lancôme Hydra Zen was that it was a gel crème, which Clinique Moisture surge also are. I think gel creme are easier to disperse, they don’t feel heavy and greasy on the face.

What I also like about Clinique Moisture surge is the crème is allergy tested, 100 % perfume free and it is an oil-free gel crème.
I have still not use the crème for so long, so I don’t know if I prefer  Cliniques creme rather than Lancôme Hydra Zen. But I do believe, that I would buy Cliniques crème again, because I don’t have to use so much creme, I use like a fingernail of creme, to cover my face, which I think is a great advantage.

I would like to know which face creme you prefers?

Jeg løb, for to uger siden, tør for Lancôme’s Hydra Zen ansigt creme. Fordi de sidste par uger har været lidt travel, så havde jeg ikke rigtig tid til at købe en ny creme. Jeg havde også overvejede at prøve en anden ansigts creme end Hydra Zen, da den er lidt dyr for en studerende som mig, uden rigtige indtægter.

Men ikke at købe en ny creme straks var en stor fejltagelse.I stedet for at købe en straks, så brugte jeg en, som min mor gav mig, men den var ikke særlig god. Jeg var nød til at bruge bio-oil for at rede mit ansigt fra at tørre totalt ud og klø helt vild.

Efter denne episode tog jeg hen til Matas i sidste uge, hvor jeg kom hjem med Clinique Moisture Surge.
Hvad jeg virkelig godt kunne lide ved Lancôme Hydr Zen var, at det var en gel creme, hvilket Clinique Moisture Surge også er. Jeg synes de er nemmere at fordele i ansigtet, så virker de ikke særlig tunge, eller fedtet i ansigtet.

Hvad jeg også godt kan lide ved Clinique Moisture Surge er at den er allergitestet, 100 % parfumefri, og den er olie-fri.
Jeg har stadig ikke brugt cremen i så lang tid, og jeg ved endnu ikke om jeg foretrækker den fremfor Lancômes Hydra Zen, men jeg tror sagtens at jeg kunne finde på, at købe denne Cliniques creme igen. Jeg behøver nemlig ikke bruge særlig meget creme, max. en fingernegl, for at kunne dække mit ansigt, hvilket jeg synes er en fordel.

Jeg kunne godt tænke mig, at høre hvilke ansigts cremer  du fortrækker?

 

Sweater dress

It is not easy to understand the weather for the moment. one day the weather is like spring, a lot of sunshine, the next day  it is raining and snowing.

Today’s outfit was therefore modified for this very variable weather, which is a my fine sweater dress.
A sweater dress is perfect to wear for a stylish but super simple casual look in the chilly weather, don’t you agree? An oversize sweater dress is just super pretty and maybe the easiest thing to wear. Do you want a bit more shape, then you can add a little cute belt and you are ready to go.

Det er ikke nemt og forstå vejret lige for tiden. Den ene dag er der forårstemning i luften, den næste dag regner og sner det.

Dagens outfit er da også tilpasset til dette ustabile vejr, som er min fine sweater kjole. En sweater kjole er bare perfekt for et stylet og super simpelt hverdags look, er du ikke enig? En sweaters kjole er bare super fin og måske den nemmeste ting at have på. Ønsker man mere facon og figur, kan man blot tilføje et lille bælte.

Home Sweet Home

Happy Wednesday. Yeah, we are half way through the week.
I like to finding inspiration for my room and future home. I’m still living with my parents, but I’m planning to move out of home when I have finished High school to continue my education another place.

I really like all the details you can add to a room and like that make the room so personally and more homely. I could easily imagine these items in my room and future home. I would really love to have the lounge chair standing in the corner of my room with my lambskin. The vase would be so beautifully with newly sprouted spring flowers on my desk .

When it comes to flowers and etc., then cactuses are a must for me. I love flowers and house plants, they gives a lovely atmosphere to the house, but I’m not good to take care of them. The flowers are always dying, I’m a flower killer, except cactuses. I can take care of cactuses, and cactus can be really cute! ❤

God Onsdag til jer derude. Yaah, vi er halvvejs gennem ugen !!
Jeg elsker at finde inspiration til mit værelse og fremtidig hjem. Jeg bor stadig hos mine forældre, men regner med at flytte hjemmefra, når jeg er færdig med gymnasiet, for at studere videre et andet sted.

Jeg elsker de detaljer du kan tilføje til et rum. Det giver dig mulighed for at gøre rummet så personlig, og hjemmelig. Jeg kunne nemt forstille mig disse ting på mit værelse, eller i mit fremtidig hjem. Jeg ville placere lænestolen i et hjørne, sammen med mit lammeskind. Vasen ville være så smuk sammen med ny udsprunget forårsblomster på mit skrivebord.

Når det kommer til blomster, så er  kaktuser bare livsnødvendigt for mig. Jeg kan virkelig godt lide blomster og potteplanter, de skaber sådan en positiv atmosfære. Jeg er dog ikke særlig godt til at passe dem, jeg ender ofte med at dræbe dem, jeg er en plante morder. Undtagen kaktuser, jeg kan godt passe kaktuser, og så kan kaktuser være super søde.

The lovers’ holiday is almost here. I think it is so sweet that the “love” has a special day, where you spoil your prince charming and he of course spoils you.

I have for this Valentine´s Day found some of my favorite items. I hope you can use these items as a help or as an inspiration for treating your significant one.

I have both found some items for the prince and something for the princess.

For the princess I can really recommend the mascara and the perfume. I have never tried so good mascara before. The brush has a great shape which spread the mascara out on every single eyelash. The scent is of ‘Midnight Rose’ from Lancôme has been recommend on the blog before, so give it a try.
A love tag necklace with you and your loved letter is also a lovely symbol of your love.

If you prince doesn’t already have a DW watch he should, you should also. The watch is classic, timeless and so beautiful and stylish. ❤
A valentine gift could also be something for the home, something you both can enjoy. It can be a set of cups which match or a lovely poster for your home that can remind you of your love and this valentine´s day.
Of course the gift could also be flowers, a sweet treat as chocolate, macaroons or cupcakes. Actually it aren’t so important what you give or how you spoil the only one, because it is the thoughts that count.

If you like me, is single, you can for the Valentine Day just spoil yourself. It is not to sound selfish; but to love another person, you must first love yourself. As single you can for the Valentine day also just spoil you dear, beloved friend. ❤ ❤

De elskendes helligdag er lige om hjørnet. Jeg synes det er sødt, at man sådan har en dag for kærligheden, hvor man forkæler hinanden.

Jeg har til den kommende Valentines dag fundet nogle ting, som du kan give eller bruge som inspiration, til at forkæle din eneste ene.

Jeg har både fundet nogle ting til prinsen og til prinsessen. For prinsessen kan jeg virkelig anbefale mascaraen. Den er virkelig fantastisk og børsten er virkelig genial til at fordele mascaraen på hvert enkelt øjnevippe.

Parfumen ‘Midnight Rose’ fra Lancôme er tidligere blevet anbefalet på bloggen, og duften er bare forforende og frisk.

Hvis prinsen ikke allerede har et DW ur, så burde han. Det burde prinsessen altså også have. Uret er klassik, tidsløs og så utrolig smuk og stilet.

En Valentins gave kan også være noget for jer begge to. Det kunne være et par super søde og fine kopper, som passer sammen. Det kunne også være en fin plakat, som kan minde jer om jeres kærlighed eller denne specielle dag.
En gave kunne selvfølgelig også være blomster, chokolade, lækre macarons eller cupcakes.
Faktisk betyder det ikke så meget, hvordan eller hvad du  forkæler den eneste ene med. Det er nemlig tanken der tæller.

Hvis du ligesom mig er single, kan også forkæle dig selv lidt. Det er egoistisk, da man er nød til at elske sig selv, før man kan elske en anden.
Du kan selvfølgelig også forkæle din bedste veninde eller en anden som står dit hjerte nær.

Monday Outfit

Another school week starts, but I’m started to be tired of school. Luckily I get school vacation in the middle of February.

I would love to start this week in this lovely outfit. For the moment I’m dreaming about printed items and this one is stunning. I have already showed you my favourite shirt for the moment, the lovely patterned shirt. I’m considering if this one also should be mine, praticularly because the shirt right now are on sale.

Endnu en skoleuge begyder, men jeg er virkelig blevet skoletræt. Heldigvis er der vinterferie om 14 dage.

Jeg ville elske at starte denne uge, i  dette smukke outfit. Jeg har for øjeblikkede en svaghed for smukt mønster. Jeg har allerede vist jer min ynglings trøje for tiden, den smukke mønstret trøje. Jeg overvejer om trøjen skal hjem til mig, især fordi den lige nu er på udsalg.

Hairstyle inspiration

I easily gets tired of my hair. It doesn’t want to do the same as I wish and then it just end up being straight and boring.
Therefore I love to find inspiration to new hairstyle and these are some simple and easy hairstyles, but still trendy and stylish.
I would love to have my hair done like these hairstyles. The braid hairstyle is one of my favorites. I love the look braids makes and it can be super easy to make, if you know how to make it and if my hair wants to cooperation.

For the moment I’m also looking for hairstyle inspiration for this summer where I becomes student. You can never be too early out with these kinds of things.

Jeg bliver nemt træt af mit hår. Det vil ikke det samme som mig, og så ender det bare med at være glat og kedeligt.

Jeg elsker derfor, at finde inspiration til nye frisurer, og disse er frisurer er super simple og nemme at lave, men stadig flotte.
Jeg vil elske hvis mit hår var ligesom disse frisurer. Fletninger er en af mine favoritter. Jeg elsker det udseende fletninger laver, og så er detsuper nemt at lave, når man altså først har lært det, og hvis ens hår vil samarbejde.

Lige for tiden er kigger jeg også på frisurer for galla, hvor jeg bliver student.  Man kan aldrig være for tidlig ude med sådan nogle ting 🙂

Homemade Toffee

HI dear friends. I hope you’re enjoying the second week of December. Last Monday I got my problem statement for my study program project. I have now two weeks to write the project at home. My project is about the spanish flu in 1918-1919 in the subject of biology and history. Therefore I may be a bit away from Blue Ducklings while I’m writing this project, but when I take a break I will be working on Blue Ducklings.
Have you ever tried to make your own toffee? It is super easy, delicious and you can make them just as YOU want them to be and taste. I like trying to make thing from the scratch and trying different flavors out.

You will need
• 2 dl (200 g) Heavy Cream
• 2½ dl (250 g) Sugar
• 1 dl (145 g) Syrup
• 100 g (1 stick)  Butter
• Taste: 1-2 tsp. Vanilla extract or 2 tbs. Coca or 1-2 tsp. liquorice powder or other flavoring powder.

Melt the butter the butter in a pot. Add the rest of the ingredients to the pot and let it boil for 30-45 min while you stir in it. It is done when it has a temperature on 124°C or 255°F. If you don’t have a thermometer that can go to this high temperature, you can take a glass of COLD water and pour a few drops of the mixture down in the water. If the toffee gets hard and doesn’t dissolve in the water, the toffee is done.
Pour the toffee mixture on a covered sheet or box and let it cool down. Cut out the toffee in a proper mouth size.
ENJOY AND YUMMY.
I pour my mixture out on a sheet which makes my toffee a bit thin, but then I fold the toffee over so it gets double.
Make the toffees as a gift for your beloved or as a hostess gift in these coming up Christmas events.

Jeg skriver lige nu SRP om Den Spanske Syge i Biologi og Historie. Jeg kan derfor godt være at bloggen vil være lidt stille de næste 2 uger, hvor jeg har skriveperiode. Jeg vil dog prøve engang imellem at tage en pause, og så arbejde på Blue Ducklings.

Har du nogensinde prøvede at lave dine egne karameller? Det er super let, lækkert og du kan selv bestemme og eksperimentere med smagen.

Du skal bruge:

• 100 g Smør
• 1 dl lys sirup
• 250 g sukker
• 200 g Piskefløde
• 1-2 tsk. vanilje ekstrakt el. pulver eller. 2 spsk. kakao eller. 1-2 tsk. lakridspulver. Du kan også bruge andet smags givende pulver.

Smelt smøret i en gryde. Tilsæt de øvrige ingredienser og lad det koge imens du rør rundt engangimellem. Når massen har en temperatur på 124° er karamellerne færdige. Har du ikke et termometer som kan håndtere så høje varme, kan du også bare tag et glas koldt vand. Dryp et par dråber af karamelmassen ned i vandet. Bliver karamellerne hårde og ikke opløst i vandet, er de færdige. Hæld massen ud på en beklædt plade eller boks og lad dem køle af. Skær/klip stykkerne ud i passende størrelser, og nyd dine hjemmelavede karameller.

Jeg hældte mine karameller ud på en plade, hvilket gjorde dem en smule tynde. Jeg foldede derfor massen, så den var dobbelt.

Lav karamellerne som en gav til dine kære, eller som en værtindegave til julens begivenheder.

 

DIY – Diary Cover

I love DIY projects because I think they are funny and I like to be creative. So when I found this cheap, but really boring and not particular pretty diary, I saw an opportunity to design a personally cover. It is super easy to make a cover like this, you only needs:
• A book who needs a new cover
• Glue
• Scissor
• Some pattern paper or so.
• Pencil or pen
Before making the cover I found inspiration from Google and Pinterest. After looking for inspiration, I drew a sketch which was my starting point for the cover. I believe the result of the cover turn out really well and I can’t wait to the new year starts so I can use the diary.
I hope this post can be an inspiration for you, to make some DIY projects.
